What we’re building

Hitch is fundamentally changing the way people travel from city to city. By connecting drivers and riders headed to the same city, we’re able to provide an extremely affordable proposition to riders while allowing drivers to monetize their journeys.

Currently, there are very few ways to affordably, conveniently, and efficiently travel between cities. With Hitch, riders and driver no longer have to book and plan their journeys days or even hours in advance - just 30 minutes.

Your Role - Student Front-End Developer

We’re a tight-knit team, working out of Capital Factory in downtown Austin. We highly value developers who are agile and able to hit the ground running on new or current projects.

All in all, we’re looking for highly adaptive people, who have the ability to be cozy in the chaos. If you like optimization problems, logistics, and small teams, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining Hitch’s mobile and web platform

  • Collaborate with designers to perfect and implement designs into the product

  • Build reusable front-end frameworks and systems

  • Critique existing designs

  • Provide feedback and new ideas to improve our systems and processes

Background, skills, experience:

  • Last year in school is preferred with a strong GitHub portfolio.

  • Expertise in the following languages and frameworks: Javascript, React, Redux, HTML, CSS with the curiosity to learn more.

  • Experience with deploying quality, scalable, reliable code to the cloud using CI/CD pipeline.

  • Ability to implement pixel-perfect designs

  • Experience with Figma or Sketch

  • Strong computer science fundamentals

  • UI/UX competency
