Any Major, Any Year
Who We Are
Genesis enables UT Austin student innovators and leaders to reach their greatest potential by providing them with mentorship, startup capital, and real-world investment experience. We have raised over $1.8M to achieve this mission and are growing our team in order to multiply our impact on the UT entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Your Team - Portfolio Management
The Genesis Portfolio Management team is responsible for fostering opportunities for and supporting Venture Partners in providing services to Genesis portfolio companies. We seek to begin assisting companies during the diligence process, and continue to help them achieve their milestones post-funding by leveraging the power of the Genesis network and our unique capabilities as operators. This team is a perfect fit for those deeply interested in the startup community and those seeking a career with a startup.
Genesis is structured to take advantage of the 80/20 rule, whereby 20% of each team member’s time is spent outside of their assigned project area on initiatives that both are both high impact and of personal interest to the team member. In other words, you’ll also have 20% of your time to explore new projects within Genesis.
Your Role - Associate
The Portfolio Management Associate will work directly with the Portfolio Management Student Lead, Venture Partners, and Ventures Division Directors to develop and manage new initiatives to support our companies. Portfolio Management Analysts are product minded-operators who will learn how to develop project requirements, manage a team to execute on a given project, and ensure the project’s long-term sustainability. Analysts will have the opportunity to build their network through interacting with investors and mentor network, and working with prestigious organizations to build systems to benefit the entire Austin startup ecosystem.
